The Fort Sill Apache Housing Authority (FSAHA) is committed to providing moderate home rehabilitation to Fort Sill Apache Tribal members.
Program Description
The Tribal Funded Home Rehabilitation Program is available to provide modernization, efficiency upgrades, and increased safety to qualifying Fort Sill Apache Homebuyers/Homeowners.
Service examples are as follows:
- Foundation
- Roofs/roof supports
- Floors
- Ceilings
- Bathroom & Kitchen (updating of countertops, cabinets, sinks, baths, showers, toilets, etc.)
- Walls/wall supports
- Dry rot
- Termite damage
- Windows
- Electrical/electrical defects
- Plumbing/plumbing defects
- Heating system defects/Cooling system defects
- Entrance and exit defects
- Weatherization:
- Sealing
- Insulation
- Painting
- Overcrowding
- Installation of smoke detectors or other minor fire prevention equipment as necessary.
- Handicap accessibility and modifications
Eligibility, Guidelines, and Requirements
- There are no income limitations
- Warranty deed, TSR or other proof of ownership
- Initial and final property inspection by FSAHA or contracted housing inspector
- First come, first served with a completed application
- May receive up to $10,000
- Must be a Fort Sill Apache tribal member
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- Must be primary residence
- Provide proof that property taxes are paid and current
- Present housing condition must be in a reasonable condition or brought up to reasonable condition after the rehabilitation has been completed
- Applicants must not have any past due unpaid debts owed to FSAHA or FSA Tribe
- Applicants must not be past due on subject property mortgage or lien
- Only one Home Rehabilitation Program assistance per household
- Applicants who have received Home Rehabilitation must wait until the third program year to reapply from the year in which they received Home Rehabilitation assistance
- Applicants who received Down Payment and Closing Cost assistance must wait three program years to apply for Home Rehab
- If a homeowner sells a previously rehabbed home within three years of rehabilitation assistance, they will not qualify for assistance for five years
- Applicants are considered eligible for the Home Rehab program if they occupy the home as their primary residence and may be verified with a utility bill in their name as proof of occupancy, even if other individuals are on the title to the property
